Bloggers Union?

Over the past few weeks I have been researching certain unions for a personal project that I have been conducting. I have found many different types of unions, ones that you would think don’t even exist. But to my amazement, after collecting the right amount of data for my “project” I was mortified to find out that bloggers don’t have a union. Unions are a great way to get something done your way. And for bloggers many things aren’t done the way that we would like. Most of the blogger population doesn’t even blog for money. We are given the lowest amount of respect among the whole internet community. I am not trying to sat that we need to get paid but just that we need to have more journalism benefits.

Along with my many hours searching the web I also turn to one of my most reliable sources, youtube.com. My keyword search was of course “bloggers union” and what I found was absolutely devastating from a bloggers standpoint. Fox news has always been a right wing conservative news network, and I don’t think that is a problem, until they start completely making up ridicules stories. Again on youtube I was browsing the videos but one video in particular caught my eye. The title was “Fox attacks bloggers” from that title I knew that this was going to be a bad idea.

The video was pretty much just a montage of news reports that are accusing blogs for being, “unconstitutional” and that they “stretch the freedom of press.” This video accuses bloggers of blackmailing presidential candidates. Also they are accused of taking over the internet. In my mind I believe that Fox news should get lost! Reason number one, they have the two most proudest and rude bloggers on the web, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. Reason number two, if Fox News can express there obvious opinion about the Democratic party than why can’t the left wing liberals discus there feelings towards the other party.

After conducting some more research I have come to a final decision that either the bloggers go on strike or we get our own union. This can go out two ways, lose your news, gossip, sports ect. or help be apart of the revolution of blogging and bloggers. I do have a fundraiser to work on but I will keep doing my extensive research to help this growing problem of Blogger discrimination!

Haiti, The 2010 Katrina

To be honest nobody gives a care about anyplace until a natural disaster or some national crisis hits this place. In Haiti’s case, nobody even knew that Haiti was already going through worse times than the U.S. I knew about Haiti, but that is just because I like to learn about other nations. If I didn’t have that quality I would know nothing about Haiti. Of course the reaction time of Haiti is far different from Katrina. I do believe that the support that the world community is giving Haiti is very good. But in other aspects Haiti and Katrina are very alike.

I knew less about New Orleans than I do about Haiti. For that matter I didn’t even know that New Orleans even was a common place for hurricanes to hit. Not only do people not care about places such as Haiti but even with American connections between these places is completely ignored. The only thing that draws attention to Haiti is the decrepit sight of rotting buildings falling over the streets. But what people don’t know is that the only thing that is different about the scenery of Haiti is the buildings might be fallen over. Otherwise the sight of homeless people, disorder and brutality is just the same. It might be at a more sever level but not much different.

But here I am complaining about the lack of direct attention to Haiti in the past but what really needs to be noticed is the Haiti desperately needs help. There are many ways that Haiti could be helped but I am going to use one of my favorite ways to help people and have fun at the same time. I will be holding a story contest for my blog. It is a five dollar entry fee. The topic is funny stories. You must write a minimum of a page, and no maximum just within reason. All of the money will go to support for Haiti. More detail will be coming out soon.

DQ: Do you know of any good orginazations that I might be able to donate the money from the fundraiser to? Leave answers and comments below.

We’re Only 13!

In the educational world, nothing stops a student from being assigned homework. Yes it sucks and yes it is stressful, but in the end it is a universal key aspect of a students school career. And once you think about it, work done at home, even if not intended to be “homework” comes along throughout life. At my school we are required to have a accordion binder/folder. My folder is sky blue, with a matching string to hold in the papers. A clear sealing so I can admire all of the wonderful work that I am assigned. But lately my beautiful folder has been falling apart. The tape proclaiming that the folder was my property has fallen off. The very helpful and quite fancy string has ripped from its post and the clear walls to my folder are falling apart. The one and only felon to do such a crime on this very important folder happens to be the inhabitant of its very sleek inner section. In other words, the mass amount of homework that comes day in and day out is the cause of the vandalism.

I am the standing image of what a child looks like after a huge amount of homework. Bags under my eyes, extremely dry skin, paper cuts all over and pencil markings on the left and right hands. I will tell you that the past month (not including vacation) all weekends I have been slaving over pieces of colorful paper as if the paper was trying to make homework more fun. But I can say with confidents that the colorful paper doesn’t help. I am trying to get to a point and I am caught up in other things, sorry.

Anyway, by now I think that you will be able to see the main grievance of this particular post is. I am angry with the current amount of homework that me, fellow students and even teachers have to go through. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to have a complaining fest just to post it on the internet. I am honestly stating a problem that many other kids feel should be focused on by the education boards all around the states. If any teachers are reading this please take this as a real problem, and try to make it better.
